Mission/Values
My mission, vision and values are to provide telehealth in an authentic, sustainable and equitable way, comparable to in person mental health therapy. I strive to ensure that telehealth is provided in the most accessible and high-quality method for all clients.
About Me
I have always wanted to be a female-led brand that reflects diverse experiences and empathetic connections.
I grew up in Nelson County, Virginia and have lived in Western Albemarle County, Virginia for over 15 years. I am married and have 1 adult child and 2 cats. I am an empath and animal rights vegetarian.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. I pursued social work given its versatility and wide range of specializations and opportunities. I have worked with a variety of populations in diverse settings including the University of Virginia Emergency Department, child welfare and advocacy agencies, outpatient counseling, intensive in-home counseling, and mental health in schools. Experiencing a variety of experiences has helped me develop a comprehensive set of skills and has added to my practice’s depth and dimension.
I am licensed in Virginia and North Carolina, and support clients online to reduce barriers and promote equity and access to mental health services. I have been a solo proprietorship providing therapy 100 percent online since 2023 and Albemarle Therapist, LLC was coined in 2025.
My Approach
In my practice, I draw from Cognitive Therapy (CT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, Holistic Therapy, Attachment Theory and Family Emotional Systems Theory.
I create a warm, engaging atmosphere in virtual sessions. I am open and non-judgemental so you will feel heard and understood. You will learn how to solve your problems, make decisions, and experience greater happiness and life satisfaction. You will learn how to use evidence based tools and coping skills on your own. We will develop sustainable habits and routines in our sessions.
